Robert Brain

Bio//

Musician, craftsman and artist Robert Brain has journeyed.  His music is a narrative on life and faith. 

The journey with music started at the age of fifteen when he got his first guitar.  Ever since he has sought out the opportunity to express his creativity through music via the mediums of art, design and craftsmanship in wood.

An encounter with Dave Pegg of Fairport Convention in the early eighties led to projects such as building a recording studio and instruments for Pegg.

Chris Leslie joined Robert in the late eighties as an apprentice in his woodwork business where they would frequently stop for tea breaks and impromptu jam sessions together.  Chris went on to be Fairport's main fiddle player.

  Led by Christ, encouraged by the community at Springwater Church and supported always by his wife Sue, Robert has recorded his first ever album at the tender age of 71.  His songs are the collective works of a lifetime of artistry, adventure and challenges overcome for which he gives all glory to the One who created him.  With the help of a host of talented musicians including Chris Mitchell, Nicola Pearson and Martin Neil, this debut is set to break barriers.  With a vocal style hinting at Johnny Cash and Bob Dylan there are dashes of folk, blues and soul in his delivery. 

Robert will be joined on tour by his band Rise.  Robert has set up a new label called RISENSOUND which he will use to release his album and to support other artists in their musical journeys.
